Chroma: which colour suits you best?
Perhaps not everyone is aware of the fact that there is an ideal colour palette for every person, which is not only derived from the choice of clothing, but also from the choice of the right make-up, jewellery and accessories in general.
We can therefore say that, in order to enhance one's appearance, it is necessary to proceed with a correct colour analysis, without neglecting that inherent to seasonality.
Every image consultant is well aware of how important it is to match one's own person with an appropriate colour palette, and so in recent years colour matching has become increasingly important.
But where does the concept of colour harmony come from? Who have been the most prominent personalities?
How do you discover your own palette?
In this article we will answer these and other questions, are you ready? Let's go!
ARMOCROMY: WHO ARE BERNICE KENTNER AND ROSSELLA MIGLIACCIO
If we are talking about colour matching, we cannot fail to introduce you to Bernice Kentner, one of the most important personalities in the sector.
Bernice, an American image consultant and cosmetologist, published "Color Me a Season" at the end of the Seventies, and from that moment on chromatic harmony would never be the same again.
Her work describes the Season Theory, in which Kentner clearly and innovatively explains a concept that had not been taken into consideration until then.
Basically, the theory states that in every season there are colour shades that are very similar to the natural colours of every woman. Having acknowledged this, Bernice distinguishes four different types of palettes, one for each season, which if used in the right way enhance female beauty.
After delving into the importance of the American, the time has come to return home, and to talk about an emblem of the Bel Paese when it comes to chromatic harmony: Rossella Migliaccio.
In the following paragraphs we are going to explain her theory and discover how to choose the best colour palette.
CHROMATIC HARMONY: CHOOSING YOUR COLOUR PALETTE
The question on everyone's mind is: "how can I find the right colour palette for me?", so let's find out a few tricks from Rossella Migliaccio.
The first step is to remove your make-up and, once you are in your natural state, expose yourself to the sunlight by placing cloths of different colours, warm and cold, without forgetting gold and silver!
At this point you need to assess which shade of colour is used to highlight your face, and then you can tell whether you are enhanced by warm or cool colours. Once this first step has been taken, it is time to find out which colour season you belong to.

ACHROMATIC COLOURS: SPRING AND SUMMER
Ok, now you have understood if you are a warm colour or a cool colour, now it's time to understand which is your season!
Let's start with spring, the season that most enhances fair skin with shades such as peach, ivory or beige. This season will favour people with light eyes and light or red hair.
The complexion will have a warm hue, so orange, camel, brown, yellow and red are the preferred palettes. You can also go for sky blue, aqua green, the stronger cobalt blue, turquoise and periwinkle purple.
Darker colours should definitely be avoided because, as well as not enhancing your appearance at all, they completely turn off the brightness of your face. It is therefore preferable to opt for pastel and delicate colours.
Let's now move on to summer, the season tailor-made for those with a very pale, luminous complexion and also pale eyes and hair. The most appropriate colour palette is one made up of cold colours or soft shades.
A pink, lavender, pearl white or light blue outfit is certainly the most appropriate. On the other hand, shades such as brown and orange, which are so popular in spring, should be avoided.
ARMOURING: AUTUMN AND WINTER
The deeper we get into the subject, the more we realise how many facets it has, so let's continue with the last two missing seasons: autumn and winter.
The complexion of those who belong to the autumn season is warm or olive, their hair is brown, red or black, although in some cases it can also be blond. Eyes tend towards green or brown, although some darker shades cannot be ruled out.
So, the colour palette of this season's participants can be based on orange, brown, copper, bronze, yellow, green and cream.
On the other hand, do not make the mistake of choosing purple, grey, black and pink.
All people with an ebony, beige or olive complexion, with particularly dark hair or platinum blond hair are part of the winter season.
The colour of the eyes either contrasts with the colour of the hair or is also very dark and never has a subtle hue.
Therefore, you should choose your outfit with intense colours, white, blue, both navy and electric, green, red, yellow, purple and indigo.
Earthy colours are to be avoided at all costs, not brown but olive green!
